January 3rd update: Clinic Postponed - Race on as scheduled

Hi Snow Sisters!

Due to tonight’s cold weather and predicted windchill values of -38, we will have to postpone the Snow Sisters ski clinic  (we skiers are a hardy bunch, but -38 is a bit much!).

Based on the dates that we have booked Windsor Park Nordic centre, here is the new plan:

(1)  Our main goal is to host a quality event, so we will hold the race Tuesday Jan. 10th as planned.  I will send out a map of the race course in the next day or so for those of you who are interested in knowing the course before hand.  The weather looks like it will be warmer on the 10th. We have fantastic finisher prizes  (trust me- they are good ones this year!), lots of draw prizes thanks to our sponsors, food, hot chocolate, music, lights and even an announcer lined up, so this will be a great night of skiing.

(2) We will use the backup date of Tuesday Jan. 17th to host our ski clinic for those of you who can make it.  We’re sorry for the inconvenience, but want to ensure that we get the race in, while  working with the weather we have.  We will have a technique lesson and will go over tips on “how to ski various terrain.” (i.e. what technique to use where).

Registration opens December 5th!!!

OK, registration is soon going to open up ... you can sign up here starting on Monday morning: SNOW SISTERS 2017 REGISTRATION

We are limiting registration to 80 people.  Last year, we sold out quite quickly, so don't miss out!

Here are the details for this year:

It involves both a ski clinic and a race.  And there will be a free toque for all finishers ($30 value), hundreds of dollars in draw prizes, great food, and great music ... for only $20 per person!!

Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017 - 7PM - 75 minute clinic - includes a trial run of the event course so you'll know what to expect.

Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 - 7PM - the event - pick your distance (2 km, 4 km, or 6 km) and your technique (classic or skate)

For ages 7 and up and is for first-time and experienced skiers!

Our backup date for inclement weather is Jan. 17th, 2017 - 7 PM

Limited to first 80 entrants

Location: Windsor Park Nordic Centre

We are expecting this to sell-out, so register as soon as you can.  Grab a friend and jump in!
